Doctors at the Harvard School of Public Health have completed a study to determine the relationship between diet and hypertension (high blood pressure). The study involved over 30,000 male health professionals 40 to 75 years old.
A double-blind controlled trial was recently carried out by Dutch and Belgian researchers in order to determine if oral supplementation with magnesium is an effective way of lowering blood pressure in women suffering from mild to moderate hypertension.
The researchers conclude that replacing common table salt with a low sodium, high potassium, high magnesium mineral salt is an effective way of lowering blood pressure in older people suffering from mild to moderate hypertension.
